EVERYDAY
(Thomasville, NC)--It was an exciting Halloween weekend for the Mahindra Tractor #81 of MacDonald Motorsports at Texas Motor Speedway.  “I love coming to Texas, Texas is an amazing track” said driver DJ Kennington.  Expectations along with anticipation were high with the team bringing a new car to the track.  The guys in the shop worked through the night prior in the week getting the car setup and ready to go.  “Just looking at the new car gets me excited” said Kennington.

The car took to the track under blue Texas skies for practice and qualifying on Friday.  The team worked on correcting a tight condition with the racecar.  “Feels pretty stable, pretty tight off, feels like the sway bar maybe hitting the track a bit” said DJ.  After two practices and several adjustments the car went to the grid for qualifying.   DJ hammered it down in qualifying, holding on to it as it continued to bottom out a bit resulting in a 40th place qualifying position.

When the green flag dropped the Mahindra Dodge took off immediately, racing from 40th to 29th.  “The car is good…it’s just a little tight” exclaimed DJ.  In the course of a long green flag run many cars began making green flag stops, as did the Mahindra Tractor Dodge, when a caution came out before all of the pit stops could cycle through.  “We got caught on that caution, it was very unfortunate” said DJ.

As the checkered flag waved DJ managed to finish 31st.  “Thanks for all of the hard guys, I really appreciate it.”

Under a beautiful autumn sun the MacDonald Motorsports, Northern Provincial Pipeline #81 Dodge Charger took to the track in Phoenix.  On Friday, the car was good in both practices, just a little bit tight.  “I think we have a really good car” said driver DJ Kennington.  “I’m really excited, we have Dwight Kennedy here from Northern Provincial Pipeline and I’m looking forward to a good run.”

Qualifying 30th DJ was looking to move forward early.  Following a short green flag run, caution came out on lap 22.  “I’m really tight center off, it’s just tight in the middle” said Kennington.  Crew Chief Matt Goslant called for four tires and a track bar adjustment.  With the car remaining tight, more adjustments were made during the lap 38 caution, “four tires, two rounds on the track bar and two rounds of wedge” said Goslant.

These adjustments along with great driving from DJ certainly helped him narrowly avoid two cars spinning in turn two on lap 47.  “Whew!  How much room did you have?” asked team owner Randy MacDonald.  “About an inch and half” exclaimed DJ.  “Great driving, way to go” said MacDonald.

With the race concluding on a green, white, checkered, DJ brought it home in 22nd position, a career best for him in Phoenix.  “Thanks so much for all of the hard work and everything you do for me, good work guys, proud of you!” said DJ.

DJ Heats Up in Phoenix
(Thomasville, NC)--It was another exciting weekend for MacDonald Motorsports at the Homestead-Miami Speedway where driver DJ Kennington was poised to make his first career start at the track.  The #81 Dodge Charger saw the return of Primary Sponsor STP Tools to the car.  “It is nice to have STP Tools back on the car, and it is fun having them here at the track with us” said Kennington.

The crew worked feverishly during both practices to get the handling to DJ’s liking.  During the first practice, the car was too tight “I drive it in the corner and it just pushes up the hill” said Kennington.  After being 45th fastest in first practice the team made wholesale changes to the car.  “The changes the guys made really made the car come to life” said DJ with the 29th quickest time in final practice.

On a warm Saturday evening, the cars rolled off the grid with the STP Tools Dodge starting in 36th position.  “Thanks again boys, it’s been an awesome year, lets have a good race to finish this one out” said DJ.  The race started with the car loose, “I’m loose all the way around, real free center off” exclaimed Kennington.  Crew Chief Matt Goslant went to work “Air pressure adjustment, four tires and one round on the track bar.”  “The car is much better already” replied DJ.  The team battled through adversity all evening long and brought the car home in 26th position.  “You guys did a great job all night long, thanks for hanging with me and never giving up” said DJ.
